How to Obtain and Assign a Tetrathlon Identification Number  ( TETID )

Each Tetrathlete, included in the NATCO db must be assigned a unique identification number.  The TETID is constructed using the following format:

• Region Number + hypen + Ascending Numeric Value  ( example: 01-1234 ).

In the above example, the competitor is identified as "1234" from the Alaska Region.

NOTE: In the initial stages, this process will be a combination of manual and automated methods, requiring diligence and oversight.  However, as the process matures, it will become fully automated and support a Tetrathlon Online Rally Entry system capability.

the caplen company, as designer and custodian of the NATCO db, will provide the TETID for each competitor.  TETIDs can be assigned before or after your Rally is contested.  The following mechanics should be considered:

• Before : If you assign TETIDs prior to the Rally, then you can immediately export the results of your Rally and forward them to the NATCO db.

• After : If you assign TETIDs after the Rally is completed, then you will need to enter the TETIDs for each competitor prior to forwarding the Rally results to the NATCO db.

Obtaining TETIDs for Each Competitor

The following steps describe how to use the Competition Assistant to obtain and assign TETID numbers to Rally competitors.

1. Open the Competition Assistant ( compass ) program.

2. Go to the Pre-Requisites | Competitors and Participants form.  Note that this form displays all competitors in the reusable pool of competitors.

3. Make sure that the Membership ID data column is displayed in the list of competitors.  If not, use the Columns toolbar button to display a popup window and drag the Membership ID to the record list - place the Membership ID as the first column in the display.

4. Use the Custom Filter toolbar button (directly above the record list on the right side of the form) and and set the filter to show "blanks" - which will change the contents of the list to only display records that have a blank Membership ID.  NOTE: Make sure that the list only contains the following items:

           Membership ID

           Name

           Region

           Pony Club

           Division

5. Do not export or send personal information, such as addresses and phone numbers.

6. Use the Export toolbar button to export the list - select the XLS format options.

7. Attach the exported files to an eMail message and send them to the caplen company.

Assigning TETIDs to Each Competitor

The NATCO db Team will assign a TETID for each competitor and return the results to the sender's email address.  When you receive the list of competitors and their TETIDs, take the following steps:

1. Open the Competition Assistant ( compass ) program.

2. Go to the Pre-Requisites | Competitors and Participants form.  Note that this form displays all competitors in the reusable pool of competitors.

3. Enter the TETID for each competitor into the Membership ID data field.

4. Go to the Organize the Event | Link Competitors ... form and enter the correct TETID for each competitor in the Rally.  NOTE: If you obtain TETIDs prior to your Rally, then you will not have to execute this step.

5. Go to the Miscellaneous | Utilities | Export to NATCO db... form and export your Rally.

6. Attach the exported file to an eMail message and send it to the caplen company.

Important Note : Communicate the TETID to the competitor.  When a competitor enters a Rally outside of their Region, such as a neighboring Region's Qualifying Rally, Championships or International Exchange, the TETID should be written on the competitor's Entry Form.

The following list presents the unique number assigned to each Region.
