Tetrathlon Rankings System

A national rankings system provides the capability to compile results from Tetrathlon Rallies, Championships and International Exchange competitions into an ordered listing of competitor performance.

The USPC Tetrathlon Committee is working to define the criteria which will govern the rules for inclusion and ranking calculations.

Please revisit this page for updates and important information as the ranking system is defined, designed and implemented.

To achieve the development and implementation of a national rakings system, a technology infrastructure will be required.  The following actions have already been taken, or are underway:

• A uniform and standard scoring system is required to capture the competition results.  This step has been achieved.  The Competition Assistant software has been developed and is available to all Regions and Clubs.

• A centralized database is required to receive the results from competitions using the Competition Assistant.  The database is in the final stages of development and testing.  Competition Assistant users are encourage to send Rally results to the National Tetrathlon Competition database ( NATCO db ).

• Tetrathlete Identification Numbers.  A unique identification number is required for each Tetrathlete to be included in a national ranking.  This identifier is used within the NATCO db to manage the data records for each Tetrathlete in the system.  Refer to the description of How to Obtain and Assign a Tetrathlon Identification Number.

How Rally Information Gets From the Competition Assistant Scoring System to the NATCO db

When a Rally has completed, the Scorer should use the Export to NATCO db option, which will export the Rally information.  The exported data contains the following elements:

• TETID Number for each competitor.

• Name of each competitor.  The name is used for display in the Rankings List.

• Performance information ( times and scores for Ride, Run, Shoot and Swim ).

The information will be imported into the NATCO db.  The following steps will be taken by the NATCO db Adminstrator:

• The contents of the NATCO db will be calculated to determine the current rankings.

• Results of the calculation and ranking will be posted to this website.

• A Rankings Report will be provided to each Tetrathlon Committee Member and USPC National Office.

NOTE:  If a competitor does not have a TETID Number, their results will not be exported from Competition Assistant or included in the NATCO db rankings.
